Prof. Itoh in UCLA has a design for a microstrip antenna with endfire radiation, I don't remember the name of the paper but in his lab website or IEEE you may find it.

I would like to ask what's career availability right now related to the microstrip antenna ?

I'm still in decision whether want to take this topic as my research graduate study.
