Help Me Plzz! RFID reader 2.45GHz

Hello everyone;
This is my first post and I hope to get help.. I am working on a project "monitoring and tracking patients" that uses an active RFID reader and I would like to know how to calculate the distance between RFID reader and tags in order to locate the patients' positions. Actually the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) could help too if I find it's parameter, but it's really hard to find! Unfortunately all the manuals related to this device focus on the Adjustable Gain.

Are you sure that the distance is per RFID to measure?
Pls tell me the way, or solution, for that.
I think; you can (or must)have more antennas in room(s) & check the active contacts per excited antenna in your system SW...
Btw;
SSI is in my opinion not enough exact, than the signal strength at 2,5 GHz is dependent of the persons bodywasser and some other environmental materials/situations too

Actually; a C# code is written using the trilateration algorithm that uses the RSSI values. In other words; By capturing the distance from at least two readers, the absolute location of the tag can be estimated using this algorithm. So RSSI readings is important for testing ..

are you sure that RSSI is implemented in your device?
If not, it will be very hard to find...

From what I have understood talking to some customers, RSSI is commonly used with the algorithm you mentioned (i suppose) in WIFI systems for asset location with an accuracy that hardly goes below 2 m.

Any more info about the device you are using?

Could you please tell me what kind of info. you need to know?

From what I can see in the links you gave me, most probably inside that RFID there is a NRF24L01 transceiver or a similar one.

You can find more detail in nordicsemi web pages.

These devices have RSSI function.

Do you know how to access directly to the radio registers, are you able to go to this low level programming or there is a kind of interface that mask you them?
