setup requirements of a 50ohm impedance VNA to test a 75ohm product

Hi to All,
Just want to ask your suggestions in setting up my 50ohm impedance VNA to test a 75ohm impedance product. I already have min loss pads but Im confused on what cables and connectors to use. My test fixtures has N(m) in the input and output. I have a lot of spare cables but I use these in microwave amps testing and they are all 50ohm impedance. Can I use these 50ohm Impedance cables to connect from the min loss pad to my fixture?
Thanks!

N connectors are available in 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm versions. The center pin diameter is different. You will damage the connector when plugging a 50 Ohm male connector into the 75 Ohm female connector.

I am doing the same project as yours
you will need to buy 75 ohm cable or adapter from minimum loss pad to your fixture

the others cable can use 50ohm

VNA-->50ohm environment-->MLP-->75ohm environement--fixture

50ohm environment
From VNA till MLP, it depends
If your MLP is SMA to N-type, then you can connect 50 ohm SMA cable from VNA till MLP.There won't be any problem
but at the output of MLP, You will need N-type to N-type(f) 75ohm to your fixture.

Can buy it online
There's a lot source out there to buy

I have to ask, what would be the trade-off to simply use the VNA without the MLPs?

The 'reference point' on the Smith chart will appear in a different position for a 75+j0 impedance; by using MLP (minimum loss matching pads) some 'loss' in measuring RL (Return Loss) energy (for S11 measurements) would occur. I might be tempted to use 1 MLP on Port 2 though .... just my thoughts ... might be able to execute a script in the VNA even to display a normalized center point of 75 Ohms, one could certainly do that after the data is acquired (on automated gear anyway).
