I want to understand terms: convergence, meshing and its types, data matrix
i read hfss user guide 11 but not able to understand the significance of convergence,
adaptive meshing, discrete meshin,
when we should choose in analysis set up as fast, linearcount , discrete and what they all mean
help in this respect

This should be in the manual. But basically HFSS (ignoring the HFSS-IE solver) creates a finite element mesh from tetrahedrals. It does this in the 3D volume, though not in PEC, as there is no need. It then calculates the S parameters. It then refines the mesh, based on where the change in E field is highest, making the mesh finer at those points where the E field is changing repaidly, and less fine in volumes where the E field is almost constant. It then re-calculates the S parameters. It does this until the change in S parameters between the last two itterations is below a certain level (by default 0.02). At that point it concludes the mesh is acceptable, and assumes the last iteration is the E field. (You can force it to run more another refinement or two, just in case the meshing is not stable, and refining it makes things worst, as it can on some occasions).
You will have to read the manual more on the fast, discrete and interpolating. I would have thought the linearcount is pretty self explanatory if you try some numbers for upper and lower frequencies.
PS, if anyone can help with my earlier request

I'd really appreciate it, as that HFSS bug is driving me mad.
