PA for TX and RX in GSM
I am looking for a PA for GSM.
I need to amplify both RX and TX channels (I am building a repeater)
One more requirement from the PA : I need it to be able to output 3W (35dBw)
Can you recommend me suitable amplifier ?
thanks,
Amirke

GSM signal will arrive to your repeater at very low RF levels. Therefore your should amplify them before driving PA, otherwise PA gain is not enough to amplify these signals.
Thanks vfone,
This is perfect for me.
But How to distinguish between 2 ranges: one range for RX (869.2–894.2MHz) and one for tx (824.2–849.2MHz) ?
This PA is designed for a wide range of frequencies, main target is BS and infrastructure PA drivers.
To cover wide frequency range, the PA do not have internal output matching network, which is external. The input matching is pretty wide, and a series 56pF and a 180 ohms shunt resistor it will provide a wide band match.
The application circuit at page 14 perhaps it will cover the entire 800MHz band, otherwise the output match may need more poles to increase the bandwidth.
Anyway this is the simplest solution for your case, and RFMD are pretty good providing samples and EVBs.
Thanks again.
Are there more known vendors for PA with similar specification ?
on top of it, I need another PA for PCS range (1850-1990 MHz). Can you recommend me with an appropriate chip (35dBm at least) ?
