antennas for biomedical applications
which type of biomedical is your aim?
Which particular application you are intended to target?
any type but should simple to design. actually i am new to HFSS so can design only simple antenna. and i am looking for any type of biomedical application not any particular.
please help me.
if u search Susan hagness new research in 2011 or 2012 u can find some new her research on breast cancer microwave imaging and the antenna too simple

Biomedical Applications comes in terahertz range, so accordingly the dimensions are resolved in micrometers, in comparison to our general millimeter range patch antennas.
All the calculations can be done using the simple formulae as given by Balanis.
You just need to select a frequency of operation in terahertz range, as more the frequency, more is the capability of the EM wave to penetrate the human body.
Now, you can easily design an antenna to treat any defect inside human body (eg cancer or something else) by passing radiation through the body.
The said paper (though I have not seen) appears to have done nothing great, just frequency selection and the applying slotting technique to incite a new resonant mode at lower frequency and hence claiming for compactness.
Please correct wherever I am wrong.

as i know terahertz antenna and structure not became and experimental and its in theoretical step and i read papers by andre alu and et al
i think u dont know susan hagness and u didn't know about microwave imaging in breast cancer cure and she most famous in this field and that modes are too important
Ashish, i am not agree with you. I have seen many paper based on biomedical application which are not terahertz range. Those paper or antennas have frequency in Gigahertz only.All those antennas works for breat cancer or medical imaging. so for me you are not right.
And i completely agree with Ferdows sir that terahertz antenna has not became experimental yet.
and i thing i want to ask you that how can you comment on any paper without seeing it and how can you criticize a great scientist like Susan who has worked a lot in this biomedical application and published many papers.

Search for WBAN standards if you are interested in Biomedical applications. I am currently working on very low frequency human body implants ( which in reality is just another antenna that works on low frequency, utilizing only magnetic field rather than EMF). Terra hertz has got nothing to do with BioMed applications and TerraHertz is still in experimental phase. people are doing mm-Wave beamforming and component design but i am afraid High frequencies like TerraHertz has no benefit in BioMed applications. rather due to high concerns regarding higher EMF over High frequencies, people are focusing their research towards low-frequency devices which work even lower than microwave frequencies.
People, you may be knowing that structures in the range of nanometers are also possible these days. So, directly keeping away and saying that terahertz range structures are not possible is nuisance from our part. Just google "terahertz antennas for biomedical applications", you will see there is significant work done on thus field, and is currently being done as well. soon, we will see this happen.
Moreover, I am not questioning on anybody's greatness. I saw the abstract of the paper at that time, and now i am reiterating my words of it not being that much effective paper after seeing the paper itself.
The work is actually done by her students and not directly by herself.
Please Vishal, don't consider anybody amateur here. I have myself worked on such slotted patch antennas and also have presented in IEEE conferences. I clearly know that I am in a learning phase, and may i kindly tell you such remarks of yours can clearly hurt anybody.
You asked the question, and i just replied what i know and let me tell you, i have also worked on a terahertz antenna for biomed app.
I repeat that i am not against the great scientist but this is not her work directly. Its like, you work and just for the sake of respect, you mentioned your director's name. Such actions are also meant for the acceptance of paper i.e. by having someone renowned in the author's list.
