High Frequency VNA reduce s p e r m count
I heard if human exposed to high frequency a lot will reduce s p e r m count. I would like to ask it that true.
I use VNA to measure backplane ( all passive) dially. The VNA is calibrated to measure backplane up to 30GHz. We have costume probe and sometime Electromagnetic signal might be leak. I would like to know should I be worry about anything that harm my body and s p e r m count.
By the way, If the VNA is calibrated up to 30 GHz. is that mean the VNA has internal function generator that inject 30 GHz signal to the port of the VNA.

High frequency communication devices (such as cell phones) have been accused of causing brain tumors, but not of affecting human reproduction.
In a similar way, there was a scare decades ago, that color televisions gave off electromagnetic radiation, that made them dangerous to sit close to. It was supposed to cause a risk of birth defects in one's children. A tv repairman told me this claim had been trumped up falsely, and he knew lots of other tv repairmen who were close to these tv's all day, and whose children were quite normal.
However as a matter of fact, even now there are real factors causing men's s p e r m counts to drop in the US over the last few decades (according to medical reports).
The most plausible theory I've heard is due to the increase of estrogen-like drugs in the drinking water. Greater numbers of women (baby boomer generation) are taking estrogen replacements, especially in the past few decades. Excess amounts of the drug are not metabolized, but will be extracted by a woman's kidneys and excreted. The drug returns to the environmental water system.
This results in men drinking estrogen drugs unawares. It is a much more likely cause of male infertility, rather than EM fields.
relax--there is no way a standard vector network analyzer can radiate your body with enough energy to ever make a measureable problem.
As a microwave technician, you want to watch out for these sort of things:
1) when using amplifiers higher than 1 watt power level with free space radiation (as from an antenna, or with the cover off during tuning). I would personally not get too concerned until >5 watt, as mostly any free space radiation is contained in coaxial loads during testing.
2) when working with transmitters and very high gain antennas--like a big dish where the energy is all directed in one direction and you might need to stand in front of the dish
3) high voltage power supplies >50 volts (as in TWT power supplies)
4) chemical fumes, like during soldering or solvent cleaning
5) eye safety--things flying into your eye, such as small pieces of wire as you cut them off, small shards of fiberoptic cable, small drops of chemicals
6) breathing in stuff. You do not want to get fine particle of stuff into your lungs. Drilling a hole in FR4 board chould release small bits of fiberglass, grinding a ceramic can get fine ceramic dust into your lungs (silicosis). Grinding brass, lead based solder,zinc, etc--bad metals to inhale.
The VNA probably emits only 10 milliwatts, which is 100x smaller than the concern level.
You can place yourself in a Faraday Cage, or just stay near the VNA and prey to affect only your fertility and not your virility.

I think perhaps you mean ElectroMagnetic shielding; Faraday shield only works to affect the electro-static field and will not, BY DEFINITION and effect attenuate the magnetic field.
This is a classic error people make, since they like to use 'Buzz words' that sound scientific and authoratative.

No way! I think is a classical error of people to think they know something when actually they don't.
A Faraday Cage will stop or attenuate, electrostatic waves AND radio or electromagnetic waves.
Here is just ONE answer from Wikipedia:
"The reception or transmission of radio waves, a form of electromagnetic radiation, to or from an antenna within a Faraday cage are heavily attenuated or blocked by a Faraday cage."
(1) Wikipedia is not a good cite source.
(2) Note the language: "a Faraday cage are heavily attenuated or blocked " ... they are equivocating.
Please cite a reputable text book.

Please note that any observed 'attenuation' effects are because of WGBCO (WaveGuide Beyond Cut Off) effects and not 'shielding' per se.
I remember another scare story, back when microwave ovens first came out.
Here's how it went:
A restaurant installed a heavy-duty microwave oven in its kitchen. It was at waist height so it would be convenient for the cook.
It was an early model, prior to the door interlock safety mechanism. The chef did not always shut the door completely. Microwaves were able to leak out through the opening.
For hours each day, the chef was close to the oven, walking back and forth in front of it, etc., day after day.
Then he had to visit the doctor, complaining of pain in his body.
Turned out his organs had been 'cooked' gradually, by the microwaves, without his realizing it.

A ghastly story. No problem for my family. We bought a microwave oven with a door interlock.
For years I wondered whether that story could be true. Eventually I decided not to believe it.
If microwaves were heating the cook's body, he would feel such an effect as it was happening.
In most of cases the published information of Wikipedia is more accurate than some obscure universities all over the world, which believe or not, some of their young professors are now inspired also by Wikipedia.
I heard that basically if you do not feel the heat from the RF radiation it's ok. If you work with
Kilowatts then you might want worry.
Sitting in a Hot tube for an Hour has the same effect.

That is actually not true in two cases:
1) a much lower level of energy than you can feel heat from would possibly cause cataracts in your eyes
2) there is a growing body of (controversial) research that says simple cell phone radiation (0.5 watts at ~2 Ghz) may cause health issues--the jury is still out on that one
in most cases you don`t feel radiation but you get heated.
a 1W signal at 2G can heat you. but u need to place your finger over the TL for example. before it gets attenuated at space. u might not even feel the heat but your finger skin will get a burn.

Place a hamburger on TL. It will walk away week before it even have become medium done. Heat will spread in the hamburger and disappear to surrounding so longer heating duration will not increase temperature.
To be able to absorb 1 Watt from a signal source with your fingertip must it represent impedance match or else will power be reflected.
If you have a matched impedance in your fingertip is it not between two straight points as human body is a very complex impedance network. Due to wavelength will RF current spread rather even in whole finger tip, spread in the same way as light from a flashbulb.
A 1 Watt signal at 2G is radiates same amount of heat as from a flashlight with a 1 Watt bulb. Both can burn you if radiating beam is enough concentrated, but it is not likely to occur with radio waves.
It is a bit more dangerous with the light-waves, especially if it is directed against your eyes, as the eyes have a inbuilt radiation concentrator.
I would say the cage would take effect for magnetic field. But for different frequency, you need a different size cage. For low frequency magnetic field, your cage need to be thicker than the brick wall of your house.
no high frequency does not effect ***** count or motility things that can effect on ***** count are Gama radiation to much exposed to X-Rays with out protection, radio active martial based test equipments, that why X-Ray technicians wear lead based radiation blocking special goan as for as i know being a bio medical engineer only radio active based any equipment can cause ***** motility
