Metamaterials are an emerging technology in electromagnetics, but conventional designs are extremely lossy due to the use of resonant metallic elements. To overcome this problem, we have begun to develop all-dielectric approaches that avoid metals. The first technology we are announcing is spatially variant self-collimating lattices. We developed this as an alternative to metamaterials designed by transformation optics. It can control waves in a very abrupt scale, yet can be composed of just ordinary inexpensive plastics with low dielectric constant.

It would be great to get your feedback on this concept.
