Pin description of RF receiver RXB11

Hi,
I am working on RF project. I am using RXB11 RF receiver. It has got 8 pins, 2 pins at named as data pin. Please find attachement

My doubt is why 2 data pin? Which one to use as a data receiver pin.

The second pin is the digital data pin and the third one is the linear output(analog). You don't need to connect the third one.it is the demodulator output which gives us the signal strength.actually linear output pin is connected internally to a data slicer circuit which determines the logic voltage at pin 2.if the linear output is greater than the referance we get a logic high at pin 2 otherwise a logic zero.note that the linear output decreases with increase in distance and therefore lose of data bits occurs.

Hi S.P.S,
Thanks for the info. When you say 2nd pin, I assume its data pin next to GND.

I have one more question.
I believe that whatever data I send at data pin of transmitter, is available at data pin(pin2) of receiver. We dont have to bother about demodulation or modulation.
Suppose while transferring a data from a port pin of micro-controller to another port-pin of a microcontroller, instead of a wire, i can put this transmitter and receiver in between and connect the port pin of first MC to Tx data pin and port pin of second MC to data pin of receiver. And it works as before.
Am i correct?

Yes it is the data pin next to GND.Just don't care what i told about the third pin.you just have to connect the second PIN directly to the MCU RX pin.If you get some random values use lower baud rates.Yes, you can replace a wire connection by simply connecting the pair.the only matter is the baud rate.
