Resonant frequency worst effects?
what worst effect should i expect of having Resonant frequency so close to my Operating frequency?
any help appreciated..
Thanks
You may be wrong. Self resonant frequency 11 MHz for RF components something unbelievable. Probably you should use Spar of inductor and as result should be something closer to reality.
I never said that the selected inductor is a RF inductor.. what i said or asked is what effects will it cause if used in my application?
secondly i didn't get what do you mean by " Spar of inductor" ... kindly elaborate what are you suggesting!
thanks !
Without details not possible something to say. If they are black box, if they has each one Spar and than at some CAD, for instance ADS , we can get result performance.
I am not sure, but when combined with other blocks there is a possibility of gain/power scaling. Normally I see this when the resonant loops are very close to the Op. freq the power is scaled considerably.
In a first order, inductor SRF should be read as a specification of parallel capacitance. As a rule of thumb, SRF lower than ten times the intended operation frequency shouldn't be ignored in filter calculations. A SRF near the operation frequency possibly impedes realization of the intended filter characteristic, detail calculation will show.
Thanks....! so it suggest we should select inductor with SRF at-least 10 times the operating frequency to avoid any ambiguity!
If available, or acount the parallel capacitance effect in filter calculation.
and if i am not wrong it means that to cater the effect of parallel capacitance of inductor that has become more obvious since i am operating near SRF , now i have to play around with the value of the capacitor that is already there with the inductor in the LC tank..
Am i right if not than what should i exactly do to keep the filter working as it was intended?
thanks
