MESFET SChotkky gate

Hello everybody..
I would like to know why we used a schottky gate in MESFET transistors instead of the gate was used in MOSFET transistors

I mean what are the real reasons behind the use of a Schottky gate !?

Schottky diode appears between metal and semiconductor junction so the reason is natural.
