De-embedding simulation
In general, we apply the de-embedding technique in measurement to remove the unwanted effect of I/O Pad at high frequency. Now I want to employ de-embedding in simulation, can we do it (Only use circuit simulator, not EM simulator)?
you can do it through matlab...seaarch for trl deembedding, you have to save all s-parameters file from open short thru lina then based on trl calibration method you have to write program.
I am sorry. My question was not clear. I think we cannot simulate the "short" --> So I connect small resistors (4 Ohm) at the input and output, so I can simulate the "short" condition.
Are there any suggestion?
Why 4 Ohm and not 0 Ohm if you want a short?
Regarding de-embedding, which simulator? There are 1-port and 2-port deembedding blocks in various simulators (e.g. ADS). You could also use negative series/parallel elements to cancel out a parasitic that is assumed a lumped element.
If you have measured s-param of device in fixture, you can de-embed
the fixture effect called error from measured data easily by ADS.
