Inverted F versus Patch Antenna

We are designing for 2.4Ghz frequency wit a desired range of around 50 m. The radio chip maximum output is 0 db.

Which type of printed circuit antenna is most suitable for this?
What is the major difference between an inverted F and Patch antenna?

The main difference is the antenna pattern.

Patch antenna pattern looks like this:

Otherwise, patch antenna has higher gain than inverted-F antenna.
