c band transponder bandwidth

Hi All,

are ALL c-band transponders 36MHz (useable) bandwidth? or can they be higher ? what is the limiting factor to this figure ?

Bandwidth is related with the information to be transmitted.If the Data Rate is high with a certain modulation scheme, the required bandwidth will also be large.The required bandwidth is demanded by modulation scheme+information rate to be forwarded.
36 MHz is a reasonable bandwith ( like Ku Band satellite broadcasting transmission ).

"ALL" c-band transponders? what is all supposed to mean?

You either have a license to use a swath of frequencies from your government, or you use an unlicensed frequency band.
