Need Help Deciding Frequency to Use

RF is new to me and I need a little guidance.
I have a customer (K12 school district) that wants to authenticate at their copiers with an RFID card.
They have no card system in place so I can order the cards and reader.
They want to buy a printer to print their employee ID on their RFID cards.
This needs to happen asap. But, next year they want to get a door entry system that will use the same ID cards to gain access to their buildings.
So I need to decide now what frequency to use (125Khz vs. 13.56Mhz).
I want to make sure that what we choose now for authenticating at the MFP will be best suited for their future door system. Which frequency would be better for door access?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John

Hi,
I don′t think frequency is the main problem.
I assume "security" is more relevant.
A simple system, just sending it′s ID number on an RFID request is very simple to manipulate. Just buy a programmable RFID card and program the number you want. Or use a sniffer to catch the ID.
Therefore I recommend to use cards with a more secure data protocol.
