How to know the polarizaton details from IE3D results?
i want to know some details from ie3d simulation.
1. how to know the polarizaton details from ie3d results? is it linearly polarized or circularly polarized? how to know that?
bye from,
bala
Hi, kbmanick:
The simplest and fastest way is to simulate your structure pattern. On PATTERNVIEW, please select EDIT->PATTERN PROPERTIES and check the parameters such as axial ratio.
Best regards,
Respected Sir,
from axial ratio how to get those details? please explain me in detail.
thanks from,
kbmani
Hi, Kbmanick:
After a simulation with pattern calculation, PATTERNVIEW should be invoked with the .pat file added into the pattern list. If you run the PATTERNVIEW from ZPM or ZELAND FOLDER, you can click the right mouse button on the pattern list to add one or more .pat files into the list.
Please select one of the .pat file in the pattern list. Select EDIT->PATTERN PROPERTIES command. The PATTERN PROPERTIES dialog comes up with a list of the pattern properties. Please scroll to the frequency of interest to you. Please check the LEFT HAND CIRCULAR FIELD PROPERTIES and RIGHT HAND CIRCULAR FIELD PROPERTIES and compare it to the TOTAL FIELD PROPERTIES, THETA FIELD PROPERTES and PHI FIELD PROPERTIES. From the comparison, you can see whether it is a linear polarized or RHCP or LHCP antenna. You can check it and I don't see the AXIAL RATIO in there. However, you don't need it. From the comparison of the above data, you will know. If you want the AXIAL RATIO data, you can select DISPLAY->2D PATTERN, 3D PATTERN or AXIAL RATIO VS. FREQUENCY DISPLAY while you are in the main window of PATTERNVIEW.
Hope my explanation helps.
Best regards,
hi jian,
i got it. by comparing the lhcp rhcp, e total, e theta how can we say linear polarization, circular or elliptical?
with thanks,
kbmani
Yes. You are right.
hi jian,
i want to know -----how to say the antenna is linear/lhcp/rhcp/elliptical polarized by seeing the total, lhcp, rhcp pattern properties?. i think now u can understand my question...
with thanks in advance,
kbmani
If you see the LHCP gain is much higher than the RHCP gain, you get it LHCP antenna. If you get the RHCP much higher thant he LHCP, it is a RHCP antenna. If LHCP gain and RHCP gain are about the same, it means it is a linear antenna. Regards.
