difference between mag andf complex_max

hi
when i try to plot filed quantities in hfss , two of the many options in get in calculator expressions are , mag_E and complex_mag_E ( E== electric field )
can anyone explain me the difference between these two ?

In the left upper corner there are a definitions of any Named Expersion defined in Calculator. You can look to it.
Partucularly Mag_E is phase dependant while complex_mag is not (ie max over period).
