HFSS How to create a 3D volume by an equation based surface

Hi everybody!
I need to create a 3D volume by an equation based surface (a spiral) but I'm encountering some difficulties.
If I select the face and then use edit->surface-->sweep faces along normal, I got the following error message:
Acis error: "Failed to thicken sheet.. Acis Error 89018 - could not offset face because of bad curvature see err info"
Body could not be created for part because of invalid parameters to SweepFaceAlongNormalFrom operation.
If I select the object and then use edit->surface-->Thicken Sheet, I got the following error message:
Acis error: "Failed to thicken sheet.. Acis Error 89008 - no solution for a vertex"
Body could not be created for part because of invalid parameters to SheetThicken operation.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? Thanks to everyone who will answer me!
