I'm trying to simulate microstrip array in IE3D using periodic boundary.
The simulation for single element pass OK but when I insert the periodic boundary the simulation gives me negative values for the real part of the input impedance and positive values for S11 in [dB].
I should add that the array I'm simulating has thick substrate so there is large coupling between the elements (about -15[dB] for S12).
Is there a limit on the coupling between cells so the solution of the array using periodic boundary condition can not converge? anyone familliar with this type of problem?
Thank you.
