hi
how can i determine the inductance of a microstrip trace with a 2d magnetostatic fieldsolver?
i draft the cross-section (trace+gnd plane), did a simulation, and did an area integral around the trace for determining the flux, then L=n*fi/i
i assumed n=1 and setted up 1A for the conductor, then i got a result.
I also did similar for capacitance (electrostatic solver), because i want to determine the characteristic impedance of the trace, by Z0=SQRT(L'/C'). but i get obviously wrong results, around 2 ohms for a 100um wide trace over 100um dielectric.
what is not correct, and first, how to determine the inductance correctly from a 2d simulation?
i was using FEMM.
