Dear all,
I am trying to design a microtrip which has the 50 ohm input strip and 50 ohm output strip, the middle part of the strip could be changed by shape or dielectric property so that the goal is all the power is absorbed, which means S11 at the input is <-12 dB, however, I am still struggling and have no idea how to design the microtrip. Freq=15Ghz and die const = 2.33. Do you have any idea or suggestion?
Thank you

Do you want to minimize the reflection of a transmission line (to make it as ideal as possible) or do you want to build an absorber (resistor)?
Hello volker_muehlhaus,
I want to build an absorber.
Thanks
Then start with a 50 ohm resistor. This will have some parasitics that cause mismatch at higher frequency. Measure/simulate these parasitics of resistor and layout incl. ground path, so that you know the value and can compensate.
There are some SMD resistor types that are designed for RF. These have different internal "layout" that minimizes the parasitic inductance, and they are also trimmed in a way that does not add inductance.
