one kind of hybrid combiner is the branch line 90 deg coupler. it is simply a square like below:
port1 ====+===(lambda/4 and Z0*(2^0.5))===+====port2 (0deg)
..............||.................................. .............||
..............||.................................. .............||
(lambda/4 and Z0)......................(lambda/4 and Z0)
..............||.................................. .............||
..............||.................................. .............||
port4 ====+===(lambda/4 and Z0*(2^0.5))===+====port3 (90deg)
port1 is the input, 2 and 3 are the output and 4 is the isolated port.
