How to obtain bulk conductivity having surface resistivity?
Hi Rola24!
In order to get the Conducting value of the material you need to convert the Resistance value from [Ω/m2] to [S/m]
First you need to refer to it as a length [m] and not as area [m2] then all you have to do is to inverse the value to get the Conductance:
Cond. = 1 / Resist.
and in physical units:
Simens = 1/Ohm (S = 1/Ω)
Bye,
Itzik
P.S.
You can leave the units of the area as they are - in this case you will have the Conductance of an area (instead of a lenght - the S/m is more popular in applied physics)
Hi
In the paper they Rs= 100Ω/square. And in the HFSS simulation they put that the bulk conductivity is 277 siemens/m but i didnt understand from where this number come?
Hi !
I think its because they using a closed cubic of 36.1 micron3 in volume for the simulation.
If you divide the Resistive with the bulk Conductance you get 36.1e-6 m3.
So by making a division of Resistive value with the volume value, you get a bulk conductivity of 277 S/m.

how I can check if the closed cubic is 36.1 micron3 in the HFSS. and if I want to simlulate the antenna in SEMCAD. I should also use 277s/m ?
Hi Rola24 !
I don't really in the HFSS sim. soft. but as far as i can know you really have tools for measuring the volume of any given object in it. (Unlike CST which have some limited ways for measuring length by Picking Faces Tool).
Secondly, I don't know SEMCAD but if it 3D sim. soft. you should use the same value; 277 S/m
Good luck !
Itzik
