How to reduce the back radiation of DGS?

Hi..

I am doing research on periodic structure (DGS). From the results, I found that the back radiation of the DGS structure is very high. It has almost the same level with the main lobe. Does anyone has experience on how to reduce the back radiation? or suggest any referred papers. Any comments are welcome. Thank you.
