s11 interpretation from smith chart

I sim. some filters design using IE3D, I draw the figures of smith chart of the results filters. Could u help me to some interpretation to smith chart result? what is graph shows?

You may not be able to get much information on Smith Chart for filter design. From the Smith Chart, you can see the following: (1) The S11 is circling the center point along the edge of the Smith Chart clockwise (always). (2) Then, it goes to the center and is circling the center in the pass band. (3) Finally, it is circling the center along the edge again. This is a typical band-pass filter's properties. However, it is hard to find the bandwidth, the ripple in the passband etc. You had better use the Cartesian graph to display the dB[S(1,1)] and dB[S(2,1)] and they will give you most information about your filter's performance.
