Problem with Ground Seperation/Length Ratio for ports in IE3D

时间:03-24 整理:3721RD 点击:
I got a medium warning:
The substrate thickness factor for port1 is too big (0.087182 vs. 0.085)
The Ground Seperation/Length Ratio for Port 1 is too big(1.45303 vs. 0.5).

Can I ignore the warning? I am using the new version. I remember somewhere Jian mentioned that the new version will extend the port length automatically.

Thanks.

Hi, Danda821:

You can ignore the 1st one because it exceeds the limit slightly and it is ok.
For the 2nd one, please go to PORT PROPERTIES and define AUTO ADJUST for your ports on V11.x. For earlier edition, please define longer port extensions. Regards.

I also encounter this warning and it leads to a positive equivalent resistor for the passive inductor under studied. Below is my warning message:
The substrate thickness factor for port 1 is too big (4.7661e+27 vs. 0.085).
The ground seperation/length ratio for port 1 is too big (8.8261e+27 vs. 0.5).
As we can see, the difference between the existing value and the required one is quite huge! And I change the mesh freq, Ncell and port extension in a larger range, however I was still far away from the required values. So I am curious about how to calculate the substrate thickness factor and the ground seperation/length ratio. Moreover, could anyone give any suggestion to mitigate this problem?

Your structure does not have an infinite ground. You will need to define differential ports. Otherwise, you may not be able to obtain correct results.
