how to simulate a LNA in mwoffice?
who can give me some good advice or tell me some skills about how to use mwoffice.
thank you very much
Realy I don't have tested Noise analisis on MWOffice, but a college has tell me to be realy care about it, fase noise and some other analisis has incoherent results. I think he test 5.0 version.
Even, I have a analisis for a LNA at 1.75 GHz, I wiil look for it and post (If I was able to find it),

I'm design some LNA in MWO and results was good (I'm using the ATF-54143 as input stage). But the design must be a very accurate - You must input the topology very detailed. Don't trust the MWO microstrip models - it works good only in simple cases and only on low freq. Use the EM-simulation to simulate the complex microstrip structures. Also - use the measured S-parameters of transistor if it is possible - many vendors provides the non-accurate S-matrix in datasheet. The measured NF (on my opinion) always greater than calculated, but the measured NF always greater than the true NF.

Hi all one question to kit-the-great.
How do you work, usally ?
Do you use MWO to do approximately design of your microstripstructures
and then you go to Em-simulations to find out the truth.
Can you then do an optimization in CST ?
Kindest regards,

Usually my work consist of this steps:
1. Design the non-accurate simulation, using the MS models.
2. Optimize this model using the MWO optimizer.
3. In cases of complex MS structures I'm replace this by MWO EM-structures and do manual optimization of this (it's not so hard as can seems). The using of CST simulation makes a sense only if You simulate a multilayer structure (4 or more layers).
But another problem is correct modeling of components (capacitance, resistors etc.). I'm use the eq. schemes that have been restored from measured data - it's allowed me to use this components in optimization process immediately.
