RF industry

The RF industry will be trendy in the future.
GaAs, Si and Alumina are good substrates for RF design.
Which one can be the main stream in the future ?

GaAs and SiGe are the most promising for on-chip integration, and I don't know much about it. However, I think that alumina itself is a bit obsolete as much higher densities of packaging and ability to integrate passives into the substrate made multilayer technologies step forward and take the trend. This can be achieved e.g. with LTCC technology and stacking of soft laminates. Also there is a development in organical substrates that can be grown on a FR4 layers and are only 8-10um thick - that offers yet another possibility of integrating digital and RF circuits on the same board.
