gummel poon model

Hi there i m new to simulation of non-linear amplifiers,
want to know if anyone had experienced in comparing the gummel-poon spice model and small signal s-parameters? and does this comparison making any sense?
any books or papers to recommend?

sorry, i forgot to say i'm trying to compare it in a small signal environment. does gummel-poon model still valid?
