locked hfss program

Hi every body:
as you know in HFSS8 when you abort the analyse for any reason, your aborted semi analysed file will lock. and if you want to analyse it again you must recover it and hence begin the whole procedure again. I want to know is there any way to prevent this subject ? in other word,is it possible to run an aborted program from where it has aborted or not ? is it possible in version 9 or 9.2?
thanks beforehand.

i dont remember any way of doing it in hfss 9.....there may be an improvement in 9.2....i havnt used it

Hi ,

You can run an aborted program from where it was aborted, provided it was aborted and saved.
I dont know if you can do that if you close the file and reopen it.
Let me try and tell you.

hi gunajraman;
thanks for your reply.I explain you more about my problem in below:
infact , as you know when you are going to solve an HFSS program you can select one of these 3 options : fast , discrete , interpolation
in discrete or interpolation solve it seems that the problem will solve step by step and result will save for any stage and if the solving prosedure will abort for any reason you can plot and use S matrix elements which concern to befor aborting.
but in fast sweep there is not any possibility for this subject.

what is different between fast , discrete , interpolate?

fast, discrete, and interpolate are just the three different methods you can use to obatin the frequency response of your device...each one has its pros/cons

Discrete:
-most accurate
-requires a high mesh for accuracy (adaptive freq has to be high)
-slowest

Fast:
-pretty accurate within a certain bandwidth around the adaptive freq.
-adaptive freq has to be in passband of your device

Interpolate
-pretty accurate
-requires a high mesh
-fastes
-cannot save field

thank you "savedadogs",

as you said I think if I don't have limitation in time the best method is discrete .
