Summary of Updates HFSS v9.2
=====================
HFSS v9.2 provides resolutions for the issues listed below:
1: Fast sweep field file loading has been re-worked to avoid potential
memory limitations.
2: The matrix solver previously could only allocate roughly 1.3GB of RAM.
It will now have access to the maximum amount of available RAM on a user's machine.
3: Users can now add customized geometry primitives to the interface.
Each primitive is defined by a single dll created by the user. Once the primitive is created it will appear in the model tree allowing its parameters to be manipulated via the properties panel in the same manner as other default primitives (ie. rectangle, cube, etc...). User-defined parts are also fully parameterizable.
4: Several drawing issues were discovered with the bondwire primitive. These problems have been corrected.
5: There was a crash that occurred after changing a boundary definition
in a copied design.
6: In certain cases terminals were incorrectly labeled in the matrix data
display. This has been corrected.
7: A scale factor was being applied incorrectly to the port field solutions
causing arrows to appear outside the model. The port arrows now appear correctly on the ports.
8: The default HFSS_MAX_REFINE value is now set to 100,000 tetrahedra.
9: Proper messages were not being displayed if the user did not have write permissions to the project and temp directories. Also, if the project
or temp directory are read-only a message will appear specifying which directory is read-only.
10: It was found for some spiral projects that it was taking a couple extra
adaptive passes to reach convergence than occurred in HFSS v8.5. A change has been introduced in the mesher to further improve mesh quality, resulting in a signficantly smaller and higher-quality mesh. Convergence times should now match, if not defeat, those of HFSS v8.5.
11: Field loading has been re-worked to be more efficient so as to avoid
possible memory limitations.
12: During batch solve hfss.exe was using a significant amount of the cpu,
potentially causing slower solve times when compared to interactive usage. This has been fixed.
13: The accuracy of the surface and volumetric loss density calculator quantities has been increased.
14: Applying finite conductivity values to ferrites did not affect the results.
This has been corrected.
15: Omega (2*pi*freq) can now operate on a scalar, vector, complex, or a complex-vector in the calculator. Previously omega was limited to complex vectors.
16: Scripts that include the "CloseAllWindows" command no longer fail to run.
17: A couple projects were crashing the desktop if they were saved.
This crash has been fixed.
18: Several display issues have been corrected in the Measure dialog.
19: For the Windows platform, the default Project directory will now be "My Documents". The default Temp directory will be "MyDocuments/temp". For Unix platforms the default Project directory will be "$Home/Ansoft". The Temp directory will be
"$Home/Ansoft/.temp".
20: All prompts will be suppressed when the software is launched in a non-
interactive mode, ie. batch mode. This particularly relates to prompts that appear when a new installation is detected, ie. Project and Temp directory definitions etc...
If the Project and Temp directories did not previously exist on the user's machine, those directories will be automatically created by HFSS. Any corresponding error messages
relating to these prompts will be directed to the log file that is generated during batch mode.
21: Previously, an error was thrown if HFSS tried to create a sub directory under a parent directory which did not already exist. Now HFSS will create the entire directory hierarchy to prevent this problem from occurring.
22: Fast sweep field solutions generated in HFSS v9.0 or v9.1 can now be post-processed in HFSS v9.2.

Summary of Updates IE3d 10.2
====================
In additional to the full-3D modeling capability introduced on the IE3D 10.1, the IE3D 10.2 implements the following features: (1) Ultra fast Adaptive Optimizer employing global and local optimizers and other advanced technologies to achieve optimum results in fewest EM simulations. It beats different local optimizers and global optimizers in both efficiency and robustness by a big margin. (2) Integration of the ADIX into MGRID with improved bi-directional conversion: IE3D?GDSII?DXF?ACIS?GERBER. (3) Near field to far field transformation. (4) Calculation of transfer function between Tx and Rx antennas in PATTERNVIEW and time domain waveform analysis on MDSPICE (optional) for UWB applications. (5) Further improved GUI for easy construction of curved structures, rectangles and circles. (6) Easy creation of edge cells and multi-level edge cells. (7) Advanced Boolean operations for geometry modeling.
For IE 3 D, Is there any patch to upgrade from 10.192 to 10.2? I think they gather all upgrades in one big 12MB patch.
yep!
donwload patches.zip (after registering there) from their www pages and overwrite all in /exe directory by these files. It's ~12.7MB
That's all :)
The attachment contains the patch (HFSS v9.2.1) for version 9.2. It will work ONLY IF you have a legal license for hfss9.2.
Summary of Updates

HFSS v9.2.1 provides resolutions for the issues listed below:
ANSft00044922: Port post processing information sis now applied correctly to matrix
data when it is varied parametrically, e.g. with different deembedding lengths.
ANSft00045256: Optimetrics gave invalid ID errors if the number of sides
of an object changed as a result of a varied parameter.
