Effect of creating slots in rectangular patch antenna

Hi, anyone can plz tell me that what's the effect of creating slots in rectangular patch antenna having coax feed? which parameters would be effected? and how? Is there any criteria for creating slots? means any formulas? Plz help me

The likely effect is that the resonant frequency will change, and if the slots are rectangular you might end up with a double tuned response.
