Very urgent - problem on signal flow graphs

Calculate the input reflection coefficient (at port 1) of a
three port network where ports 2 and 3 are terminated by short
circuits.

I can't see any way of doing this unless you give some information about the internal details of the network OR all the S parameters. Port 1 could be totally isolated from ports 2 and 3, or it might be directly connected across one of them.

I think the task is to write down the signal flow with all the related S-parameters. Nice homework for students to understand the concept.

Dave, i think it is allowed to assume some generalized 3 port signal flow graph and derive the results as per that diagram.....can you do it that way ?

ask yourself a question. Do you want to get an answer to this particular question, or do you want to learn something so you can pass your exams at a later date?

You do not appear to have made any attempt at this. If you have, at least let people know what you have done, what your thoughts are, what equations you used. Then you will get useful feedback. But people are unlikely to want to solve your homework problem for you unless it is clear you have made a decent attempt. (However, there is an exception - see below).

Apart from the fact the original question was not put very well (I think volker_muehlhaus has worked out what is needed), you have not demonstrated any attempt to solve this yourself.

Perhaps if you really want an easy life, pay me £150 (UK pounds) to my Paypal account, and I'll solve it. Since it's very urgent, I'll send the answer directly to your lecturer for you. Just let me know their email address, and your full name, so I can say who I solved it for.
