patch input impedance in hfss
help please
I want to measure the input impedance of single patch in microstrip antenna
I dont want to use to formula of micro strip
I want to measure the imput impedance of patch using HFSS (because some path have undefined form and and their formula isnt simple )
I have atached one single patch for example
help please
you can easily plot the input impedance by selecting "Terminal Z parameter" and then Z11 as Z11 is nothing but driver side input impedance and i guess you need the same.
I have simulated your structure, but it is poorly matched and at around 2.5 GHz re(Zin) says around 250 ohms which for perfect matching should be around 50 ohms.
moreover, i am unable to understand the kind of feed you have given. Its a bit confusing as if you want to feed using coax (probe feed) or microstrip line (edge feed)?
Hope it helps.
Regards.

thank for your help
one question :
I want to know the only patch impedance , where should I put to the port
could you put the port in my Hfss to help me
thank

hi
thank
I have seen that paper before design the antenna. thanks
now I attached another Antenna that it's port has been changed
but It dose'nt answer correct
please put this port to correct palce to it's Z11 become input impedance of patch
OR
delete my port and put your own port to calculate input impedance of patch
thank a lot before
you will help to a student that really need the answer
thank
