ADS:Component max i/p power

Hi,

In ADS why we take into consideration 5 dB gain compression while deciding component maximum input power ? What this 5 dB signifies ?

Its first time I hear of a 5-db Compression .. its actually and usually 1-db compression point.. which shows the maximum value of input after which the output is no more linear... so from (Vout - Vin) graph we can find the max limit to sweep input before getting nonlinear output... have a look at following link:
