calibrated antenna & cable

Reference antennas used to verify performance of other antennas are regularly verified. In some rare cases can it result in mechanical calibration of the antenna but most common is that correction parameter file belonging to an individual antenna is adjusted. This parameters file is then something that always is added for finding total antenna parameter.
Losses in cables must also be calibrated for if they are a part of any measurement requiring reliable values.
Some type of measurements do not need calibrated antennas or cables. Losses are corrected as a part of instrument setup for every new measurement situation. Most Vector Network Analyzers have this calibration function.
