2.4 GHz RF Transmitter
I am trying to construct a simple RF transmitter working at 2.4GHz. I am looking for around 18dBm output from the circuit. I would like to use a filter for added harmonic purity. I will add a simple antenna at the end, most like a dipole. I also need a transistor which will need to be matched. I do not know where to start! Can anyone suggest any help please?
Thanks.
I would use an RFMD ML2730 and follow it with a minicircuits LFCN-2600 lowpass filter.
I would select Hittite power amp and select one Mini LPF, just as Biff44 said, but I would prefer LFCN-2000, it depend on your requirement.
I just received update from fieldcomponents about 2.4 GHz RF Transmitter.
This should be easy to fine just g00gle. But you should do a quick line up to see if you can get there with one amp.
For example Assume the following:
InPut Pwr = ? (What do you need to have as your I/P vs what do you have)
Filter Insertion loss = ~3dB attenuation (-3db)
Matching the Filter to the Amp S11 = ? (assume 1dB of loss)
Amp Gain (20-10 typically) = ~ 15dB
Any loss to the O/P = ? (assume 2dB)
So to get Pout=18dBm--> Overall Gain: -3 + -2 + -1 + 15 = 9dB Gain ! ---> Input Power Must BE = 9dBm ...
Good luck,
