Hi Guys,
I have been given a project to simulate a receiving array of patch antennas. At the moment i am using a single circular patch that is matched using a quarter wavelength transformer. The design is super simple but as i have never used CST until now i am finding a few things a little difficult and would appreciate some help.
I have managed to set up a port and field monitors and have taken s11 parameters, VSWR, impedance and farfield radiation patterns without any problem, however, i am after a plot of power v frequency so that i can compare this to an RF power - output voltage graph for my rectifier, this way i can estimate the power the antenna will provide when the whole circuit is connected.
I am also curious, as this is operating as a receiving antenna, do i not need to be directing plane waves at it and taking the power received from the port? I have tried using the help pages on plane waves but don't really know what i am doing.
to sum up i am after simulating a receiver with an ultimate goal of finding a power - frequency graph.
Cheers for any help,
Lee.
