Design antenna for SAW sensor (surface acoustic wave sensor )
Now, I'm designing an antenna for SAW sensor (surface acoustic wave sensor ) and I'm considering two types of antenna: printed yagi and planar spiral antenna. With some requirements:
+ High gain: at least 6-7 dB
+ directional radiation
+ optimal size
+ Bandwith:100MHz (range Frequency: UHF 860MHz-960MHz and resonant Fre: 910MHz)
Who can give me some advices ? please . thanks before!
Optimal antenna size, that do we all want to find out. Practical limitations such as available width/length/weight and surrounding dielectric properties makes "optimal size" unique for each project.
Do not know what differ your SAW component compared to a regular 50 Ohm TX circuit, but it sounds as something rather small=>small ground plane. Then is a Yagi a good selection that seems to fit your requirements.
Biquad is else an alternative antenna type which can be somewhat more compact then an Yagi.
I appreaciate you helping me. Thanks so much
excuse me do u mind if give me your email or facebook address I have some questions to ask, can u help me! tks so much
I do private consulting for living => costs money. You can contact my company.
If you have technical questions, make them here in this forum, it is better to let everyone help you.
First of all to cover the 860 MHz to 960 MHz range you need a Log Periodic antenna, because a standard Yagi cannot cover this range with decent gain flatness over the band.
You need a printed Log Periodic Antenna, which actually is not much complicated than an Yagi to build. Search the net an you get a lot of examples.
I don't know how much would cost you calling a consulting company, but from here you can buy a printed Log Periodic Antenna (or printed Yagi) for less than 30 bucks.
