[Suggestions] High DC Voltage at -60 dBm of a rectifier ?

Hello Members,

I have a following voltage doubler design (Fig.1) with the appropriate DC Voltage of 3V at 10 dBm as shown in Fig.2

I wanted your suggestions in following:

1. I want to have a DC Voltage of about 1-3 V at the input power level of [-60 dBm to -40 dBm]. How can I acheive that? Should I increase and play with the values of lumped elements or should I add more diodes into the circuit?

Awaiting replies,
Regards

You can see from your graphs that the diodes do not produce any voltage output with an input of less then -30 dBm. So you must amplify your signal to get it to at least this figure. Adding more diode (?) will not help.

Now depends by your load resistance.
-60dBm (0.000000001W) it is a very low power, and to produce +3V after the detector (any type) it is practically impossible.

@Chuckey and @vfone: Thankyou for the quick response.
I guess amplifier is an optimal solution. Kindly let me know which amplifiers to use and at which stage in the circuit it should be introduced.

Since you are combining inductors and capacitors, this technique may allow you to amplify the voltage with only those components.

The less load you draw, the higher the output voltage you can obtain. To find the maximum voltage requires tedious adjusting of LC values.

use a log amp instead, it will be a whole lot less trouble

Thankyou all for the suggestions.
