Simulate a receiver with ADS before to realize a prototype
i am a beginner RF designer. I want to design a RF receiver and now to simulate it a behaviour in ADS. This receiver has several blocks as Amplifiers, mixers, and an ADC too.
The problem I am trying to solve is this: I can't find the ADS models of this components. They are Analog Devices components. I and my company tried to request it the models, but it does not give them to designers.
I could use the S parameters, but S parameters are linear models given in a certein point of work.
Sorry for my bad english. I hope you understood me. I want to simulate the receiver with the components models because I want to predict the effects of conductive tracks that link the components before realizing the layout and then the prototype.
How can I do it without component models?
Thank you
The linear/nonlinear model of integrated systems ( ICs, ADCs, DACs, Mixers, Amplifiers etc. ) are generally not given because they aren't exist. They are functional blocks and they are used as is.
But you can use ideal functional blocks of "ADS System Simulation" to predict approximate behaviour of your receiver. However you should know how to do that.
Really? Do not they exist?
Ok, you're right. I know how to simulate the receiver with ideal functional blocks. I am already done it. I used the budget simulation to predict system behaviour modeling ideal blocks with the component data sheets.
But how can I simulate the behaviour of temperature, the change of bias, effects of conductive tracks, ecc. without models? I still didn't understand it Do I have to use the budget analysis with microstrips?
Help me pls
