received power and length of the antenna

hi everyone,
For a short linear antenna (l<< lamda) the received power increases in direct proportion to the length of the antenna?
Thank you so much.

no, an antenna receives and transfers maximum signal to the receiver when it is resonant at the required frequency

According to antenna theory, the maximum received power of an antenna in a free space is determined by it's effective area. The effective area of a short wire antenna only depends on wavelength, not on antenna length. Due to the l2 dependency of radiation resistance, it may be impossible to actually utilize the received power of a small antenna.

Thank you for your reply. So what is the relationship between received power and the wavelength of antenna? does received power increase proportional to the wavelength of antenna?

Effective area and received power is proportional to λ2.
