Multiple Access Techniqies
Just looking for some information with regards to how multiple access techniques work with communication satellites.
It was my understanding that they allow the satellite to broadcast down to multiple end users ? Is this the case ? If so, at what what stage in the transmitter design does the division take place ?
Thanks,
J
google CDMA ( Code Division Multiple Access)
this may help as your exact query is a bit unclear

Hi Dave,
I have designed the link with 80MHz bandwidth (120MBp/s using QPSK). However it needs to support multi user access.
How is the multi user access method integrated into this link?
thanks,,
J
All you need is to explore some TDMA, FDMA or CDMA technique which best suits your problem as you need to have multiple access to some shared bandwidth
In my particular channel which is c-band, I have assumed usues for television broadcasting etc. Is there a rule of thumb to the maximum number of allowable channels I could achieve in 80MHz BW ?
Thanks
I
Look this varies from application to applications and technique used just have a look at these very basic Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) where complete frequency band is time shared between users, Frequency Division Multiple Access where a particular channel of frequency in band is available for user all the time (FDMA), Code Division Multiple Access a little complex a sort of combination of two (CDMA) and you will get a better picture of the things.
You can google them very easily and be sure that all the information you will find very easily like
