2 GHz Frequency Generation
Is it possible to generate 2 GHz frequency as an input to an antenna in a simple college laboratory setup ? What are the other options ?

If I use such an IC should I fabricate it on a separate board?
Should I attach any extra components as mentioned in the datasheet?
How do I connect it with an antenna?
How can I control and measure the input power given to the IC ?
Making a 2GHz oscillator is not such complicated.
In the schematic attached you can use any other high frequency BJT transistors from NXP or Infineon.

You would have to solder this to a PC board, and the antenna would also attach to the board.
But the board is non critical...just so long as the backside is a ground plane. You could cut the board with an exacto knife, and peal away the unwanted copper with a soldering iron and some tweezers.
