I am attempting to recreate and reproduce the work of a researcher, in HFSS, on a dual and quad output switch, and would like some insights into how to implement the boundary conditions and excitations respectively. I have an attached an image of the device. The distances between the central beam and input and output ports have been designed such to give the desired results. It's working is as outlined as follows:
The thermal actuator, present at the bottom of the structure, on application of an Electric signal at E1, moves the central beam forward, establishing contact between the input port 0 and the out ports 2,3,4 and 5, making it a quad output switch.
Similarly on application of an electric signal at E2, moves the central beam backward, establishing a contact between the input port 0 and the output ports 1 and 3, making it a dual output switch.
