Convert HFSS to gerber

I have designed a microstrip patch antenna in HFSS and now I want to fabricate it, so I need to convert the HFSS file into a gerber file. What is the best/easiest and free method to do the conversion?

Try to use export command of HFSS and see in drop down list for the extension you are interested. I am not sure but most of time it works

Unfortuately, HFSS still lacks the capacity to export in Gerber format. I have no idea why this is still the case. I do my conversion through another program, by exporting in GDSII format.

Keysight Advanced Design System. I imagine there would be other small utilities out there to do this as well, but I don't know of any.

The basic issue here is that HFSS and the associated files are 3D in nature. A Gerber is used to fabricate a printed circuit and is basically 2D. HFSS supports a variety of file formats. The one useful here is a *.dxf which is supported by HFSS . This file is convertible to a Gerber using software like PADS. Keep an eye on the format as the way HFSS treats the export varies a but from one version to the next.

I suggest to use another program to do the conversion like ACE 3000. It is very usefull software.
