How can I parameterize the curve

Dear all,

I wanted to design a 3D U shape on above my substrate in HFSS, But i am unable to parameterize the curve of the U shape? can anyone guide me please?

try a sphere - use the bottom half

what kind of coordinate system does the software use?
Cartesian? (rectangular)
cylindrical? (polar with Z axis)

can you change coordinate systems?
