Dear Forum listers,
Does anyone have experience in simulating projects with a high aspect ratio (difference between the smallest and the largest dimension in the design) in HFSS 9?
I have been having problems in efficiently simulating a patch (microstrip) antenna with a substrate of 0.7 mm with conductor and finite ground thicknesses of 0.0002 mm. The conductor and ground that I am using are not ideal (with conductivity ~5e5 Siemens/m. Can anyone help with suggestions?
Cheers,
Emmanuel

- at first you should define virtual objects to make meshing in different way
- near strip define mesh more accurate for closed object
- 2...4 steps for mesh
Thanks for the reply. Are there any application notes for best ways of defining virtual objects? Is there any particular thumb rule that I can use to efficiently define these?
Cheers,
Emmanuel
