cavity modes ansys
I am going to analyze a rectangular cavity with ansys but there is
problems about applying source to input port . How can I do it?
the modes of cavities are independent of inputs. they are eigen functions of a diffrential problem with certain boundary conditions. you just excite these modes (one or more) with inputs. thus, you do not need input modeling inorder to analyzing the cavity.

Hi!
Mamali is right, eigenmode analysis is independent of inputs..
But - if you like to study coupling into cavity, you need to define input ports and then get Sparameters from modal fields and modal coefficients.
If you need only cavity modes, you even don't need Ansys. For rect. cavity the eigenmodes/eigennumbers are known in closed form.

hi
yes you are right but there is a error in ansys ,
which mentions "there is no source" while solving
model . and then sets s-params with a default
value . how can i disapear this error massage .
i'm using ansys5.6 .
