Hi guys,
I brought up the same question some time ago.
Here is the question:
1. How can I produce S-parameter when "current excitation" is used.
2. When I use the lumped source for the port, I can surely produce S-parameter. But how can I define the input current.

I'm not a HFSS expert. However, does a "current excitation" not exclude S-Parameter from a physical point of view?
S-Parameter needs a reference impedance. If you have a current source, this reference impedance in infinite!
By definition, your simulation source will not accept any outgoing power. I guess you should use a Power Source with an defined internal impedance.

From the help of HFSS, if you use a "current source",the S parameter can't be obtained. If you use a "lumped port",the power transfer in to the port is 1mw(I am not sure).Then using the charactistic impedance of the port ,you can obtain the current.
